Typical used car salesman LIES! I was told on the phone the car had 9 YEAR OLD TIRES and that would be a negotiating factor. After driving over 2 hours and 100+ miles + test drive, I was told, in no uncertain terms, the PRICE WAS FIRM! To replace the tires with comparable Michelins (NOT 9 YEARS OLD) would cost roughly $1700. LIES WON'T SELL CARS! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!! I give this a three because Donnie was an amazing sales person. He assisted in helping an international student at IU Bloomington purchased her first car. Upon taking delivery, everything was satisfying and excellent, a 10 star to Donnie. 40 miles after driving the car away from the lot the vehicle had a mechanical issue resulting in having to be parked just 4 hours after purchasing it. After talking to the general manager and Service manager, no thought was given to aiding in the repair cost. I spoke to the general manager and told him that if I Had ever sold a vehicle on marketplace or to an individual and something of this nature would happen I would absolutely take care of it. His response was “not me“ This speaks a volume to the kind of person that is in charge of the dealership, he kept reminding me that it is a business for profit. My opinion is for the cash not the customer. Donnie was phenomenal and was concerned and felt really bad about the situation. After this young lady, put $8000 down and purchased her first car in the United States. She felt a defeated. I did explain to her that this is not a common practice. As mentioned., We did buy the car as is but 40 miles out from buying it. it’s just the most aggravating thing anyone could handle to deal with. We will not return to this dealership for any future business. Buyer beware, maybe the dealership did not know about the issue, but any dealership I have dealt with in the past would have taken some type of responsibility or compensation for an issue as this.

They had the perfect van for our family and it seemed a little out of reach with our budget. Patrick and our Sales Rep Scott never missed a beat, they got to work. In this stressful situation, we relied on Patrick and Scott to help us get into our “dream” family vehicle. Took my Escalade in for a check engine light, rough ride (bad struts), and worn out brakes. I knew what the check engine code was and told them. They checked it out, told me I had some other repairs needed. Before Daymond let me know the total, he asked me if I had any warranty on my vehicle. That, to me, is top notch customer care. I did have a warranty and it paid on a couple of things saving me lots of money. The customer care was beyond my expectations, communication was great, and the ease of the whole transaction was comforting. Glad that Sternberg proved to be a trustworthy service shop. I’m thankful that my mechanic recommended them for work that was out of their capabilities.

My family bought a Chevy Silverado 1500-used(roughly October). I’ve purposely waited to write this review(although I felt hounded to do it by email for weeks following our purchase). I wanted to really see how things worked out with our vehicle. A month before we bought it, we went to ask questions, we had not bought a car in MANY years. We spoke to Joe. Throughout all our conversations with him we felt things were going well &our questions were getting answered. Joe knew we weren’t buying that day, he was respectful of that. The manager was a bit pushy though. honestly I wasnt surprised- no one walks off a car lot w/o feeling a little pressure. We continued to speak with Joe off & on throughout the month about coming back & taking a look at the truck & figuring out paperwork to purchase. Another employee continued to drive the truck during that month- a common practice we had no issue with. When we were finally ready to purchase- we made an apt with Joe, about a week in advance. Throughout this wait time Joe was always very patient and there to answer questions when needed. The manager continued to send automated messages frequently trying to get us back to the lot. Understandable to a point- did get annoying at times. The week of our apt we were having some health struggles with our baby. So our apt did kinda go into limbo while we were trying to figure things out. Joe was still patient. We were able to keep our original apt & let Joe know that with 2-3 days notice. At that point… I would have thought the other employee would have stopped driving that car, so that sternberg had the ability to clean it, complete basic service before the sale. That did not appear to be the case, as that other employee was removing their personal belongings from the truck as we showed up for our apt. We test drove, purchased the truck. The process was still very easy with Joe throughout everything. He helped us finance & get things to a price we needed. It was by far the fastest we have ever seen paperwork go during a car purchase. We were extremely pleased with the lady who talked us through all the contract/financing/ loan paperwork. I wish I remembered her name. She was polite, explained well, very friendly. We are still satisfied with our purchase. What we were not satisfied with, the frequency the manager felt he needed to contact us. We were fine/ happy speaking with Joe, I never felt the need to include the manager. But he felt the need to include himself quite a bit. We were also not satisfied with the inner appearance of the vehicle when we arrived the day to purchase. I can’t speak for Joe- maybe he was still unsure we were actually purchasing and honestly I’m not sure this is something even in Joe’s control. there was very clear dirt & dog hair / dust/dander etc all on the inside of the car. If we were paying as much as we were for that truck- the employee shouldn’t have still been driving it that morning. Had he not been- I’d like to think the car would have been clean. I’ve never seen a dealership sell a dirty car. But when we were in need of a vehicle- we were not letting dog hair stop us. Just seemed unprofessional. Joe did state we could come back and they would clean the inside of the truck. But we had a baby and they knew that and it was hard enough to find time and a babysitter to go purchase the car in the first place. Let alone having to bring it back. I felt like there was dishonesty in the services completed. The carfax they provided us stated they changed the oils/fluids etc. with as low as they were shortly after- I’m finding it hard to believe a full oil change service was completed- just like we didn’t get the “full tank of gas” we were told we were getting as well. I know this because of the range difference after we drove off in the truck they stated “had a full tank of gas”yet was a solid 50-70 miles less than what it filled up at the following week. As far as dealerships go they were the cheapest. But that showed in the lack of services they completed like they should have done and stated were done.

I’m 19 and Jose help me with my first big purchase I’m driving off with 2023 Nissan rogue with only 1k down thank you Jose and thank you Sternberg Chevrolet.

I would highly recommend buying from Sternberg’s and our salesman Taz Yocum. My husband inquired about a vehicle on the lot in the late evening and within minutes Taz messaged us. He set up an appointment and we went and checked out the vehicle and happy to say we are owners of a new car. The whole process was quick and efficient.

I couldn't get anyone in service to call or text or email me after multiple attempts to get someone to communicate with me. Oh and the credit card fee is a bit petty. I spent 30k there and they charge me extra to use a credit card.

I brought my 2025 Equinox in because it was making a “mooing/ roaring sound that was very annoying. I came in to ask if they had any complaints about the sound in the NEW equinox body change for this year. The service gentleman asked if he could plug his computer in and see if it showed any notifications for the noise cancellation microphones . It did and he changed the positions of the microphones and said if I have any more problems bring it back and he would reboot the noise canceling program. I came in to ask if they had any complaints about the sound in the NEW equinox body change for this year. The service gentleman asked if he could plug his computer in and see if it showed any notifications for the noise cancellation microphones . It did and he changed the positions of the microphones and said if I have any more problems bring it back and he would reboot the noise canceling program. I have never had anyone help me without an appointment. I will use Sternberg Chevrolet for all my maintenance needs. Everyone I came into contact with was very welcoming and professional
